Ella vino a nuestra familia en 2019 como estudiante de intercambio a través del Programa YES, un programa del Departamento de Estado de EE. UU. que brinda becas a estudiantes de secundaria de países de mayoría musulmana para estudiar en los EE. UU. Sara vivió con nosotros en Bainbridge Island y asistió a la escuela secundaria Central Kitsap.
